Winter in St. Johann in Tirol
St.Johann is one of the most popular ski resorts in Austria. The picturesque village lies at the foot of the Kitzbüheler Horn. There is a vibrant and bustling atmosphere in the village, which boasts excellent cafés, restaurants, bars and shops. The nightlife is lively and the architecture is typically Tyrolean. Rustic mountain huts are dotted over the mountain and entice skiers, snowboarders and non-skiers to soak up the traditional Austrian hospitality they have to offer. Superb slopes which are located on the snowy northern side of the Kitzbüheler Horn are well suited to beginner and intermediate skiers. Easy blue runs lead back into the village. All this and more makes this quaint village a top choice for a fabulous skiing or snowboarding holiday.
For the more adventurous skier or snowboarder, the newly introduced, Kitzbüheler Alps AllStarCard (Ski pass), gives access to an incredible 1081 kilometres of slopes serviced by 357 ski lifts in 7 huge ski areas: Kitzbühel, SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser-Brixental, Schneewinkel, Wildschönau, Alpbachtal, Saalbach-Hinterglemm-Leogang and Zell am See (Kaprun glacier).
Have St.Johann as your base and travel to the various ski areas which are accessible by bus or train.
